Detailed Answer:
Hi Kowurkavi,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.
If you would have presented to me as an outpatient,I would have advised you the following management steps-
1)Regular physiotherapy-is the cornerstone of management and the most important part of therapy. Please learn cervical spine exercises from an expert physiotherapist and do them regularly. This will provide a great help, not instantaneously but gradually.
2)Antineuralgic medicines- Pregabalin 75 mg once a day and Duloxetine 30 mg twice a day can be taken. These will help to improve neuropathic pain.
3)Opioids-Tramadol can be taken if you are having severe pain. This medicine can should be taken on sos(at the time of severe pain) basis.
4)Methylcobalamin 1500 mcg per day,calcium and vitamin D supplementation.
5)Strict control of blood sugar.
For immediate pain relief,Tramadol will help. However, please continue regular medicines and cervical exercises, and I am hopeful that you'll show improvement in a few days.Besides, there is nothing magical which will improve the things overnight.Hope you understand the medical limitations.
PLEASE TAKE ALL MEDICINES UNDER A PHYSICIAN'S GUIDANCE.
Hope that I have answered your query. If you have any follow up questions,I shall be glad to answer else please close the thread, rate it and write a review as your rating will be of help to me.
Regards
Dr.Ajay Panwar,
MD,DM(Neurology)
