What Does The Fecalysis Test Report Indicate?
Question: My daughter had fecalysis 2 days ago and found out that she has entamoeba histolytiva toph 1 to 3.
Color Yellowish Green
Consistency Mucoid
WBC 1 to 2 hpf
Red Blood Cell 1 to 3
Ova & Parasite Entamoeba Histolytica troph.
Yeast Cells Few
She is taking flagyl for the amoeba and XXXXXXX for her fever. Her bowel movement has improved from 6 to 8 times a day to just 1 to 2 times with few solids. She is very difficult to feed but we were able to make her eat fruits.
Why is she still having fevers up to 37.8 to 38 on and off?
How could we avoid complications?
What are the steps we could do?

Went through the detailed description. The treatment line is correct.
The reason for on and off fever is because of the infection load which will take another 48 hrs to reduce ,and subsequently as the infection load is reduced the fever automatically stops. Do not panic.
Keep your child well hydrated with plenty of oral fluids like ORS-oral rehydrtaion solution to avoid complication of dehydration. Drink cleaner water at all times.
Avoid spicy and fried foods. Initiate clean enviornment so that this infection will not spread to other family members.
Look for severe pain abdomen and continuous fever beyond 3 days, if found, kindly get a doctor to re examine your child.

So kindly recall the date of onset of fever. If its 72 completed hours of fever onset and if the child is still lethargic and feeling uncomfortable, then you ll have to revisit your doctor for re evaluation and change of treatment line if required,

Her fever started high 3 days ago then was gone then back again at low fever of 38 po.
