What Does The Following CT Scan Report Indicate?

Lung bases are free of effusion. Scattered areas
of air-trapping noted. Linear bands of scarring atelectasis present. Is that anything to worry about? I've had pneumonia within the last two years that was very severe. I've also had nodules on my lungs due to RA. When I called my family dr. he left a message describing everything except the lungs. I just was wondering if I should be concerned
They are probably not active lesions/findings!
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about these findings and all the inconveniences that this has caused you. I am of the opinion that there is nothing you should be concerned about in relation to these findings. They are probably in connection with past infections and do not represent an ongoing infection or disease condition that needs any attention. If it were, I am sure your doctors would have brought that up. If this were in connection with the neuroendocrine tumor, it would have been nodules and preferably not at the periphery but in the middle of lungs tissue.
Also, if you have had previous chest x-rays, you can ask for a comparison to be made for more information.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Minimal hypoventilatory changes of the right base. No
effusion. So why would those bands just appear ? Is it that maybe the technician was better on the second scan.
Two radiologists read differently and report differently!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I will suggest that you ask specifically for the radiologist to correlate the findings now with those on the last Xray. We would make sure it is the same doctor reporting and if he says they were not present, then it would call for more attention.
Ask your doctor about this and keep me updated with the results when you get them. I wish you well and hope to hear from you.
