What Does The Following EKG Report Indicate?
Minor abnormalities.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
I understand your concern.
There is nothing to worry.
Your heart rate is normal at 62 beats per minute, the heart rhythm is the normal sinus rhythm. The QRS duration, QT interval, the P, QRS axis are normal. The T wave axis is borderline.
There is a slight prolongation of the PR interval. Yours is 212 milliseconds. The normal is upto 200 milliseconds. It only means that there is a slight delay in the passage of the electrical impulse from the atrium to the ventricle. In medical terms it is a First degree heart block. This is quite common and does not usually produce any symptom.
The ST - T segments are within normal limits, the T wave in some leads V3 and V4 are slightly flat/ biphasic. These are called non specific changes. If you have no chest discomfort on exertion, these may not be significant. Please compare with an older EKG if you have. If there is any heaviness or crushing pain when you exert or climb steps etc, then this requires to be investigated through an exercise tolerance test like Tread Mill Test.
Do get back to me if you have further queries.
Welcome
