Brief Answer:
Both test results show a positive result if this was IgG

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. If you have been HSV-1 positive for many years now, then there is a more likely chance of the second test being a false-negative.

I would recommend a retest for the IgG test, but either way both test results show a value higher than 5.0 for HSV 1, which means both values are positive. So in my opinion you are positive, which we already knew didn't we ma'am?

Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.

Brief Answer:
IgG tests are almost 98% for HSV-1

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again ma'am.

The IgG reports a positive result and the accuracy of the IgG tests for HSV-1 is about 98 %. Both the tests report a positive result.

Only the IgM reports a negative result, which in my opinion can be ignored here ma'am. You are still positive from the given reports and in my opinion ma'am.

Best wishes.

I AM ASKING IF ACCORDING TO THE HSV 2 RESULTS SHOULD I ASSUME I AM NEGATIVE. 1ST LAB RESULTS FOR HSV 2 IGG INDEX 1.12; 2ND LAB INDEX IGG .54

I KNOW FOR SURE I AM POSITIVE FOR HSV 1; I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHETHER THE 2ND IGG RESULT FOR HSV 2 IS MORE ACCURATE AND RELIABLE.

Brief Answer:
My sincere apologies for not understanding better, trust the second test

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again ma'am.

My sincere apologies for not understanding your query well enough earlier.

The type-specific tests are not as accurate as the newer ones like the second one you have conducted. So if we were to compare and trust any one test, I would trust the second one over the first meaning that you are most probably HSV-2 negative.

I hope this helps in answering your query. Please do not hesitate to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
