Brief Answer:
Liver ultrasound and Viral hepatis screen is required
Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir.
I can certainly understand your concerns.
I apologize for the delayed response owing to my work schedule.
Metacin is a hepatotoxic drug, It can contribute to a minor extent to your liver dysfunction.
The cause of this liver dysfunction has to be determined first before initiating therapy.
For this, I advise you to get an Ultrasound abdomen and Viral hepatitis Screen (HbsAg and IgMHbC).
Stop intake of any drugs which can impose stress on liver.
Consume foods like Oats, Apples and Green leafy vegetables.
Meanwhile, I generally prescribe my patients with oral pills of Liv 52 once a day for 2 weeks.
Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe the same to you.
Further management if any is largely based on test results.
Post your further queries if any.
Thank you
