Question: I had a MRI contrast of my left elbow....could you please interpret the findings. Was this an old injury or a recent injury.

Brief Answer:
Old injury likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
I have seen the attached report. There is partial thickness tear suggested by thickening of the ligament. This is likely to be an old tear more likely to be a stress related injury rather than a direct impact. Since it is a partial thickness tear, it is likely to heal conservatively with rest and immobilization. You can avoid all the painful movements and take anti inflammatory pain killers to help.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.

I thought I had injured it 3 years ago pushing something up and heard a pop. I had PT but never a MRI. Would this cause tingling and numbness down to my fingers? Called Carpel Tunnel. You don't think surgery will be necessary to repair in the future if rest and immobilization did not work? Thank you kindly

Brief Answer:
Surgery is less liekly to help tingling and numbness.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The swelling of the tendon can cause a minor nerve compression causing the tingling and numbness. A surgery is less likely to decrease the nerve compression. It is best to treat it conservatively with rest. In case there is any muscle weakness of hands then a nerve release procedure may be needed.
Hope my answer is helpful.
