Brief Answer:
Osteoarthritis likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
I have seen the attached images. These are few of the MRI scan images that suggest osteoarthritic changes in the knee joint with reduced joint space.
Steroid shots decrease the inflammation and provide a temporary relief only. They do not retard the disease progression.
Inability to run and restriction of the joint movements will persist till the joint space increases with joint lubricant injections or reconstruction of cartilage or joint replacement.
Till then it is best to avoid painful movements, avoid putting too much stress on the knee and do regular physiotherapy to strengthen the muscles around the knee.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.
Dr. Praveen Tayal.
