What Does The Following MRI Test Report Indicate?
Question: I'm confused. I had a stroke last week and one two months ago. The one two months ago was the right side of the occipital lobe. According to the MRI report - last week's was to the right side of the thalamus. However, when I went to my neurologist today he said when he read the report that they may have been referring to the stroke of two months ago since both regions are in the same area of the brain. He agrees I had a second stroke but it may have been a TIA or made no noticeable damage. This does not make sense to me. Is the occipital lobe and the thalamus in the same area of the brain?

MRI if done correctly should give the exact location and the age of brain stroke.
A transient ischemic attack usually doesn't result in definite damage of brain and doesn't reflect on MRI results.
If you had a TIA or a stroke this is evaluated by clinical and neurological examination correlated with MRI findings.

In the past 3 months I have had a an ekg, TEE with bubble study, echocardiogram, 6 months ago had 24 hr heart monitor and a stress XXXXXXX Well, since this is my second stroke in two months my primary doctor and neurologist wants me to see my cardiologist again for possibly mor tests. I see him on Momday. Any idea of what test he might do at this point?

They have done the ultrasound on the carotid and it was good but no angio ct has been done yet. Can you tell me what an angio CT is?
