What Does The Following Blood Test Report Indicate?

Question: Hi
Recently in my routine blood test my LFT came as abnormal. ALT 105 U/L AST 68 U/L . So my Hepatologist suggested few more blood test and elastography. Fibroscan result show mild fatty liver with grade 1 fibrosis(ARFI value 1.56 m/s). Blood result are hep b, hep c =normal, HDL 44 , LDL 124 , HBA1C 5.3%. Doctor prescribed me only URSETOR 300 twice a day.
I am very much worried about fibrosis grade 1 , i am only 26 years of age. Is fibrosis grade 1 reversible .
Is there any medication? Is it curable?

Hi
Greetings from Dr Divakara P
Thanks for posting your query.
First of all relax.Grade 1 fibrosis is not very serious. There days I am seeing this in many individuals.
It is mainly due to sedentary lifestyle, high fatty food, alcohol intake , high blood cholesterol and diabetes.
Your blood cholesterol level LDL is high, you need to start exercising at least 20-30 minutes every day. Avoid sweets, carbonated drinks, non veg food and alcohol.
Also get tested for diabetes if not done before.
Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarification feel free to ask.
Regards.

Thanks for your answer. Your answer relieved my tension!
My blood glucose level is normal and also Glycated Hemoglobin(HBA1C) is 3.5 % which is normal according to my doc. He said I am not prone to diabetics .
I dont drink alcohol . Also my total billirubin 1.8 , direct .5 and indirect 1.3. My doc says this is not a problem since maximum component is indirect. But .5 direct bilirubin is slightly high (normal range is <.3) . Am I going to get jaundice?
How far is the damage in fibrosis 1 and what is the possibility to progress to advanced stage? Is the damage reversible which is already done?
Please help

Brief Answer:
Its reversible.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Your elevated Bilirubin is due to Grade 1 Fibrosis and since it is very mild elevation nothing needs to be done. No you are not going to get jaundice because of this Fibrosis.
Unless the fibrosis is controlled with diet and exercise it may progress to Grade 3 fibrosis and later Liver failure over a period of 10-20 years.
But if you follow the diet and do regular exercise this fibrosis can be reversed.
Hope this information was useful to you.
