Brief Answer:
Methylcobalamin is absolutely needed in your case.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam,

I understand your query and concern.

You seem to have low levels of Vit B12 causing low hemoglobin .

This Vit B12 deficiency might have been developed secondary to long term ingestion of Metformin, which is known to cause B12 deficiency.

All you currently need is replenishment of B12 stores before they produce any physical symptoms.

I strongly recommend Tab Matilda ER/methylcobalamin once daily for one month followed by once a week for 3 months.

This will correct B12 deficiency as well as hemoglobin levels( as the low hb in your case is predominantly due to low B12.).Additional iron folic acid supplementation will be helpful as well.

Repeat B12 levels after 3 months.

Please note the above drug has to be taken under strict medical prescription.

Thank you.
