default
Posted on Sat, 7 Mar 2015
Question: Developmental venous anomaly in the right parietal lobe. This is what a recent MRI brain scan showed. No mass or hemorrhage. Remainder of report seems normal. Brain scan and Xrays of neck done due to neck pain and intermittent headaches for nearly 6 weeks. Does this anomaly require further testing or follow up in your opinion?

Brief Answer:
Digital substraction angiography should be done.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

If you would have presented to me as an outpatient,I would have told you that 'MRI Brain'
showing venous anomaly should be evaluated with Digital substraction angiography (DSA).DSA will help revealing true nature of the anomaly and whether it is contributing to headache and other symptoms.
After getting DSA done,it should be consulted with neurosurgeon if it needs any surgical intervention.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have follow up questions,I shall be glad to answer else please close the thread, rate it and write a review.
