What Does The Following Lipid Profile Test Report Indicate?

I did my health check up on 02.01.2016 and readings on lipids are Total cholesterol 224, HDL - 35, LDL - 161.4 LDL.HDL Ratio - 4.61
What dose this mean, all i read is that risk of heart disease is high. Can i get your opinion on readings and advise to follow up ?
Detailed answer...
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have seen your reports and it shows slightly high total cholesterol but moderately high LDL( bad cholesterol ) levels along with low HDL ( this protects heart and is called good cholesterol ).
High LDL cholesterol causes blockages in blood vessels and can cause heart attacks.
This risk s increased tremendously if you are a smoker or having blood pressure and diabetes or if your near family members like brothers and father are heart patients.
What to do....
Change your lifestyle by diet restrictions and exercises.
Do regular aerobic exercises for 45 minutes a day
Reduce your weight
Quit smoking
Control your BP
Avoid fatty fried and junk foods
Take more of fresh fruits and vegetables
Take whole grain cereals like oatmeal and oat XXXXXXX
Avoid red meats, fried non veg and curry non veg
Can take fish like salmon and tuna which has omega three fatty acids. You can take two fish meals in a week.
Get your cholesterol levels checked up in 12 weeks.
If still high then you will require medicines like statins to lower your cholesterol levels.
I hope it helps, however you are most welcome to revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks

I agree that i need to change my lifestyle by diet and fitness. as far as fitness is concern am relatively fit as my height is 178 cms and weight 76 kgs and do exercise 2 days in a week. Generally i avoid junk foods and maintain healthy diet. I am not a smoker now and was a social smoker. wondering what to change.
Going ahead I will follow the diet suggested and keep my self more fit and proper.
My question is that 1) Considering my height and weight should i further reduce my weight ? 2) can you please suggest a diet which will reduce LDL and increase HDL as well.
Your weight is almost all right, however better would be toshed 3-4 kgs more.
As far as diet is considered I explained you earlier that you have to lay more emphasis on fresh fruits and green vegetables, avoid fatty fried and junk foods, take only tandoori non veg and specially fish only.
For a proper diet chart you would need services of a dietician who can prepare diet chart according to your likings and preferences.
As far as exercises are concerned you need to exercise at least 6 days a week because goal is to burn the extra cholesterol.
The best way to increase HDL is exercises only
There is no diet or medicine for it.
In case you are not able to decrease your cholesterol by diet and exercises in next 3 months then you have to be put on anti cholesterol medicines.
Thanks
