Question: hi my pap semar result say
microscopy
1) ectocervical smear with adequate cellurity shows :- predominantly intermediate and superficial squamous epithelial cells.
mucoid background.
numerous polymorphs and few lymphocytes.
2) endocervical smear with adequate cellularity shows: - intermediate & superficial squamous epitelial cells.
mucoid background with few RBC's
Abundant scattered polymorphs
impression :- 1) Negative for itraepithelial lesion/ malignancy
2) PAP smear with mild inflammation & hemorrhage
wanted to know what it means thanks

This is commonly due to infection or an injury. For the treatment, a course of antibiotics (I will prefer doxycycline) may be needed. Consult your local gynecologist for further management.
