What Does The Following Ultrasound Report Indicate?

Can you compare the initial ultrasound with the most recent one.
Also please explain the following comments on most recent ultrasoud:
-no colour flow seen crossing internal os
- succenturiate placental lobe on posterior aspect of lower uterus just superior to internal os
- heterogeneity in interface between placenta and myometrium
- echogenic area 1.2x1.0x0.8 (can you tell me if its is the suspected fibroid or hemorrage from previous report) and what has calcified.
- comment on fetal growth progression (lengths normalÉ)
- should we continue to abstain from intercourse
Nothing worrisome.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
I have seen both the reports. The comments made on the placenta and internal os just normal. There is no finding that is worrisome.
- No color flow is crossing internal os- means no blood vessels or placenta covers internal os.
- There is a small separate lobe of placenta situated above the internal os- Internal opening of the cervix. Not worrisome.
- The heterogenic signals posterior to placenta and uterine wall can be due to the blood vessels.
- The echogenic area seen is not related to fibroid or hemorrhage mentioned in previous report. This is an independent area of calcification.
The fetal growth is normal. There is no need to worry. Now that placenta is not covering the os, the chances of bleeding after intercourse are very low. You can have a gentle intercourse.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
