Question: My husband is 84 and has had 3 MIs, and has been diagnosed with CHF also. Presently, he is having SOB, O2 at 83, Pulse is 97. Should I take him to the ED now or is it safe to wait until his Dr's office opens in 6 hrs?

Brief Answer:
Take him to ED now.

Detailed Answer:
HI

Thanks for posting your query.

Presently his condition is not very severe but it may deteriorate within few hours. If would be preferable if you take him to ED now itself as a drop in the oxygen saturation ( 83 ) means that his lungs are getting filled by the water and if it increases he shall become even worse .

So kindly take him to ED and get him evaluated and treated.

Hope this information was useful to you.

Any clarification feel free to ask .
