What Does The Precence Of Floaters In Vision Indicate?
You answered my question about the floater and I went to my opthamologist and he said a Detached Retina was a serious problem and to contact him if there were new floaters. Well how to know that? I had a large, outlined, black "C" or "O" shaped floater and now two or three weeks later I not in about the same place a lighter colored smaller "O" shaped floater. Did the first one go away? I don't think so and believe the original floater has faded and gotten smaller but I'm not 100% sure about that. Any suggestions?
Since there are no increase in floaters and flashes, no need to be worried.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic
I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an Ophthalmologist and I will be answering your question.
I reviewed your history.
Thank you for the follow up question.
Retinal detachment usually presents with sudden onset of floaters or sudden increase in floaters with flashes of light and sudden painless diminution of vision affecting one quadrant of the visual field or entire visual field.
Hence no need to be worried as in your case the original floater has faded and there are no new floaters and importantly there are no flashes and decrease in vision.
Hence no need to be worried.
Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you.
