What Does The Radiology Report Indicate?
Question: I just got a radiology report and it says I have infrahilar opacity which may be vasculature or a parenchymal lesion what does that mean
Brief Answer:
nonspecific finding
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM.
If this was lung xrays then it means that there is so called "shadow" in the middle lower part of lungs at the area where bronchi enter lung tissue.
Lesion is worse scenario and it means that there is some localized lung disorder which can be more or less serious, these include benign and malignant tumors but also some nontumorous diseases. VAsculature at this area is normally found so it would be better if this is vasculature and I think it is since it is rarely misdiagnosed with tumors.
However, I suggest to do CT scan to rule all this out especially if you are a smoker. Wish you good health. Regards
