What Does The Raised Lesion On The Penis Indicate?

default
Posted on Fri, 6 Feb 2015
Question: Hi, ive had this one really tiny raised lesion on the penis glans for the past one month. It had neither increased or decreased for the same period. Color is almost the color of the glans- pink & red with a celophene paper appearance, though hasnt pussed or broken. Ive had slight discomfiture during urination, thats it. Prior to this was and am still having electric pangs now n then & intermittent itching on the helmet for which i was prescribed Pregablin 75 once a day to calm the nerve disorder as per the Urologist's advice. This has really got me worried that it may be some STD. I had protected sex sometime in August 14. Thereafter got tested for all std'S in Sept14 which were negative. Anyway this has surfaced last month n im really worried now. What if its a late symptom. Pls help.

Hi Doctor. thanks for the reply. have uploaded some close up snaps for your observation. Ive had this lesion sometime since mid Dec15. Prior to that in August 14 i had an encounter with a lady of unknown status. During the session she had tried to give me a header which i refused and her mouth n saliva must-eve been over my head for say like 4 seconds. Thereafter had an intercourse with proper protection and a thorough wash-up thereafter. Ive also frequently used hair removing cream available off the shelf down there though it has been advised on packet against use on genital areas.. Though using regularly i had a very bad episode in April14 which warranted a immediate visit to the Doctor. The visit made me use antibiotics both orally and topical application the affected penis head and shaft and took about 10 days to recover. That was last usage of the hair removing cream. That episode left some residual scars on the glans and head and though healed thereafter, there were superficial scars none the less. My visit to the urologist in Nov15 was because of the tingling sensation and occasional pain i used to get from the penis rubbing against my inner clothes. The urologist said that it was a reaction was because of the nerve endings and had hence suggested Pregablin 75 onetime a day for 3 months. This lesion reared its ugly head in mid Dec15 and now im really at my wits end. i do not know whether this cause is because of my encounter that has raised its ugly head after so long, or because of the long standing abuse because of the creams or because of the nerve reaction. Ive stopped the Pregablin75 from the last 3 days because of the discomfiture ive been feeling. Please help.

Brief Answer:
Not a std ,so don't worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

thanks for the pictures

First of all, I would like to assure you that the skin lesion you have developed is nothing to be worried about.
It does not look like any sexually transmitted disease .
You seem to have developed a lesion of lichen planus over the glans region .
Now this is basically an autoimmune skin disorder which is quite common over the genitals of male .
Apply a topical steroid cream like cortisone cream over the affected area twice daily for two weeks.
I am sure the lesion would get better with treatment .
In case the lesion tends to persist or increase even after using the medicine, then you might have to see a specialist nearby.
Do not worry since it is not contagious in nature and will settle down soon .

Hi Doctor.. thanks for the feedback. Quite a relief with ur assurances. But should i continue my Pregablin 75 capsules. Because the side effect of theses medicines are not so great and are these medicines necessary. Ive stopped it for the 4th day today n there is slight of a withdrawl symptom like a very mild head throbbing happening intermittently. Plus the penis head is overtly sensitive when rubbing against clothes. Like it gives out intermittent pain when rubbing against the clothes during movement. So is this the effect of lichen planus or the withdrawl symptoms of the Pregablin 75 medicines. Anyway thank you so much doctor for advice and time taken to reply. Thanks again for the immediate response and the clear advice.

Brief Answer:
Continue with the medicine

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

I would surely suggest that you should continue with pregabalin for the increased sensitivity .
Pregabalin intake for a longer time is not known to cause any significant side effects ,on the other hand ,it is very effective in your problem .
