What Does The Triglycerides Level In My Lipid Profile Indicate?

Detailed answer..
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
As far as your weight is concerned,it would be better to have your weight around 170-180 pounds.
Regarding your lipid profile your total cholesterol levels and triglycerides are all right but your LDL cholesterol level and HDL levels are undesirable.
LDL is a bad cholesterol and it is better to keep it below 100 and if somebody is having risk factors like hypertension or diabetes, then the target should be below 80 .
Other factors for increased risk are smoking, low HDL,family history of early heart disease.
Similarly your HDL levels should be above 50,although ideally the best is to have it more than 60.
What to do...
Quit smoking ,if any
Doing regular aerobic exercises for 45 minutes a day
Shedding weight
Eating more soluble Fiber like fruits, vegetables, oatmeal, beans etc.
Eating less animal fat and dairy products.
When lifestyle changes don't change your levels in next 3-4months,then better to take medicines for it.
I hope it helps, however you may revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
