Detailed Answer:
Thanks for posting your query at HealthCareMagic. I have gone through the report which is borderline positive for Salmonella typhi O Antigen. A Widal result in dilutions of above 1:80 is considered positive (so 1:160 is positive). But there are a few things that I need to mention. Widal test does not become positive in less than 7 days of fever. So, if the fever has just started from yesterday, you can disregard the test and its report altogether. In that context, I would really like to know whether the test had been suggested by a pediatrician or was it done on your whim. The blood count that you have attached does not indicate a bacterial infection. It is either a viral infection or needs to be confirmed for typhoid with a antibody test. Urine test report is normal.
Most of the fevers that occur, are due to viral causes. Information on other associated features like cough would have been helpful. In case of a viral infection, antibiotics are ineffective and the temperature needs to be kept in control by cold sponging and the use of paracetamol. Viral fevers typically last between 5-10 days and resolve on their own. The nature of fever is important too. In typhoid, there is high rise of temperature and it rarely comes back to baseline. I would insist you to get a typhidot IgM test done. If you can let me know about it (along with the other relevant details), I can suggest further.
