Posted on Tue, 18 Aug 2015
Question: Good Morning, My CT Lumbar Spine results include the following (for which I would appreciate explanation): Marked narrowing of the L4/5 and L5/S1 invertebral discs and mild narrowing of intervertebral discs throughout remainder of lumbar region. Fron T12 to L4 the vertebral canal and neural foramina appear normal in calibre. There are mild to moderate degenerative changes on the right. There is discophytic lipping of the vertebral endplates encroaching on the thecal sac producing a mild degree of spinal stenosis. No significant encroachment of the neural foramina. At L5/6 there are moderate to marked degenerative changes in the facet joints.

Brief Answer:
You are having spondylitis of the lumbar spine

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
i have studied your case and I think that you are having lumbar spondylitis. In this condition there is disc herniation and nerve compression. Your lower two discs are specially bad and that may be causing back pain in you.Your past surgery has also increased this problem.
A CT scan is not a good investigation as MRI offers more information. I would suggest you following.
1.Wear LS belt to support your spine.
2. TAke calcium and Vitamin d 3 daily to make your bone stronger.
3.Hot water fomentation is helpful for you.
4.If there is leg pain then you need to take Gabapin NT tablet at night time.
I hope this answer will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
