Question : Hi, I am in need of a second opinion. I am writing on behalf of someone who was told that they have colon cancer and referred to a surgeon for excision of a piece of colon. Based on the attached documents and test results. I am in need of a second opinion and possible alternative treatment options by a specialist in cancer treatment etc. Thank you much.
Brief Answer:
surgical excision followed by chemotherapy
Detailed Answer:
Hi
According to the CT scan report the patient is suffering from sigmoid colon cancer
As the cancer has not spread to liver and lungs it is in second or third stage of the disease.
Treatment at this stage consist of surgical excision of the tumour followed by chemotherapy called adjuvant chemotherapy.
Whether at all chemotherapy will be needed will depend on the histopathological report of the surgical specimen after surgery.
