What Does This CT Scan Report Indicate?
Question: I have high RBC, High HCT, High HGB, Really Elevated B12, slightly elevated Haptoglobin, elevated Albumin. Abdominal pain that gets worse (pressure under rib cage) after eating. Switching from Constipation to Diarrhea, Night Sweats, Extreme Fatigue, really itchy skin (on and off), Recently the lymph nodes behind and in front of my ears have swollen-no pain and I'm not currently sick. Ultrasound was normal except a note of a 1.3 cm Splenule. CT scan shows Possible Fistula in Bladder- small air pockets. ALSO- "there is a wedge-shaped peripheral region of hyperenhancement in the anterior aspect of Hepatic Segment 2, this is nonspecific but likely represents an area of transient hepatic attenuation difference versus flash fill hemangioma. Small focal region of fatty infiltration along the fissure for ligamentum teres"
Brief Answer:
Possible Polycythemia.Need to rule out Malignancy
Detailed Answer:
Hello, Madam.
I can certainly understand your concern.
I have worked through the attached reports as well.
CT changes are non specific.
As Per your symptoms, the possibility of Polycythemia is high.
At this point, it's extremely important to differentiate this into benign vs malignant process.
Hence its important to get a Bone marrow examination and further genetic testing if necessary.
Further management if any is largely based on test results.
Please update me with the test results.
Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.
