What Does This CT Scan Report Indicate?
Question: Hello Doctor,
I have had a CT scan for my upper respiratory tract and it has turned out that there is
1. No sinus.
2. No polyp.
3. Mild nasal septum deviation.
4. Swollen turbinates.
I have this persistent nasal block because of the swollen turbinates and I can realise it when I do breathing exercises or any physical exercise. Else there is no much problem in breathing.
I have been prescribed Montlar for 3 weeks and nasal solution. nasoclear. I have already taken it for 2 weeks around and not sure it has helped. My doctor has suggested that this is the first line of treatment and he will proceed further after examining me after 3 weeks.
Any inputs on the same?
Regards,
XXXX

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for putting up the query
your Ct report says that you have a deviated nasal septum and swollen tyrbinates which means no sinusitis . It seems to be allergic sunusitis. Even the complaint that trouble while exercising increases shows it is allergic
Your doctor has put you on absolutely appropriate management.
Allergic changes take few days to go..so wait for atleast 2 weeks and continue with the prescribed medicines.
You can always put up a folllow up querry if u have any doubts.
Thanks
get well soon
