Irregularlinear opacities peripheral and subpleural
Subsegmental airways cylindrical dilation
Elevation of anterior right hemidiaphragm
Will you please explain the above results

These are features generally seen on imaging studies like x-ray and CT scan in interstitial pulmonary fibrosis. The findings are better visualized on CT films. Fibrosis which means scarring is the main feature on x-ray and CT. Scarring is more common in the periphery of lungs in the beginning, however with time it may involve the whole lung.Cylindrical dilatation is seen in advance stages as the scarred airways get distorted. Elevation of anterior portion of diaphragm is also a result of scarring. IPF may.be seen with your collagen vascular diseases like lupus as seems to be in your case or it could be idiopathic which means that no cause can be identified. All these changes in the lungs may affect the function to different degrees in different individuals.
