What Does This ECG Report Indicate?

Question: A recent echocardiogram showed a mildly dilated left atrium (4.1) with LVEF 60-65% with normal diastolic function. Mild AI, mild AS (Vmax 2.7 mmHg & PG 30 mmHg), trace MR, mild TR & moderate PHTN, RSVP of 46.6 mmHg.

I was nervous during the exam with a pulse of 95. I am 68, not overweight, and exercise regularly with weights and cardio (including burst training). It takes about 10 minutes at 3.5 mph on the treadmill to get my heart rate above 100.

I am concerned about the PHTN. A 2012 cardiolite stress test (11 min) was normal. I do occasionally have irregular heartbeats.

Can I continue to exercise until any follow-up appointments or should I take it easy?

Brief Answer:
You can continue until you see your cardiologist

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,

You have good echo data besides mild aortic stenosis and pulmonary hypertension. With mild tricuspid regurgitation moderate PHTN is uncommon.
If you are completely asymptomatic you can continue your physical activity, but you should see your cardiologist to find out the cause of pulmonary hypertension and discuss the treatment. May be there will be a need to repeat echo.

Hope I could help you

Wishing you good health
