What Does This HIDA Scan Test Report Of Gallbladder Indicate?
Chronic cholecystitis suspected
Detailed Answer:
Hi my dear,
I understand your concern.
Your case:
- 58 years old female
- symptoms: pain in gallbladder area for 4 years now
- 2 Hida scans showing 27% and second 97%
Hida test stands for hepatobiliary iminodiacetic acid scan.
At the first Hida test is showing poorly functioning of gallbladder(most probably due to cholecystitis). When they injected radioactive contrast, only 27% was able to get flushed by gallbladder due to poorly functioning at that time.
The second is indicating rapid passing of radioactive tracer. Correlation with clinical presentation (pain or others) should be done.
I think you are having chronic cholecystitis explaining the pain.
Diet changes are recommended to help you gallbladder work better. Antispasmodics(Buscopan) can be used to ease the pain.
Hope this helps.
Let me know if I can be of further help.
