What Does This MRI Report For Memory Problem Indicate?

I have been experiencing sleep paralysis on a couple of times, and seeing things that aren't there. I was on Xarelto for two years starting in Sept, 2012 due to a blood clot in my left leg. I have since been tested and told that the blood clot is gone, and been taken off the Xarelto. ssI went to a neurologist and was tested with EEG and MRI. The tests came back today, and was told the EEG was normal, and the MRI shows some shrinkage of the brain, as well as an aneurysm somewhere in the brain. The nurse did not say that I needed to see the dr right and since I had an appointment in a little over a month, I could come then. My concern is that, is this something I need to see another dr for another opinion, or is this normal?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Memory problem with advancing age is common and mostly due to alzheimers disease.
Other causes which can be treated are vitamin B 12 deficiency, Thyroid disorder, diabetes, renal or liver disease related memory loss.
The Mri is showing age related changes and aneurysm may be incidental finding.
The Eeg is for recording any epileptic discharge but if normal then nothing to worry.
I will suggest to continue your neurologist and get blood investigation for dementia like blood sugar, Thyroid profile, vitamin B 12, renal function test. I don't see need for immediate attention. You can consult the doctor on the scheduled date.
Drugs for alzheimers are available and can be started once the diagnosis is established.
Is there any other medical illness.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
