There is loss of lordosis
At C4-C5 level : Diffuse disc bulge abutting the anterior subarachnoid space without any nerve root compression
At C5-C6 level : Diffuse disc bulge with broad based posterocentral disc protrusion intending the anterior subarachnoid space without any nerve root compression

Whole spine screening with T2W sag shows :
There is lumbarization of L5 vertebrae
Mild degenerative changes seen in the form of loss of lumber lordosis and Schmorl's nodes at superior end plate of L2 and inferior end plate of L1 vertebrae
At L4-L5 level : Disc dessication and annular tear seen at this level. Diffuse disc bulge abutting the anterior thecal sac without any nerve root compression.

Brief Answer:
There is mild degenerative changes in neck and lower back

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,
Thanks for writing in to us.

The above MRI scan report is shows findings in the neck and lower back. Our spine is made of 33 bones having discs in between. These bones and discs can develop degeneration with age and this causes pressure on nerves and pain.

In the neck, there is mild degenerative changes but there is no effect on nerve roots. However many people might experience variable neck pain and discomfort even with mild problems.

For neck pain, it is suggested that you avoid making sudden neck movements and lifting heavy weights (over 5 kg) over your shoulder level.

In the lower back also there is mild degeneration of the discs between the bones and few of the bones. In lower back which is referred to as L4-L5 disc level, there is a small tear. Again since there is no nerve compression, therefore it is not a serious problem.

Since your MRI scan findings are mild therefore it does not require any surgery. Please consult an orthopedecian or neurologist for pain medications if you have severe pain since some pain relief medicines are given only after clinical examination and with doctors prescription because they are powerful. Physiotherapy can help if you have developed neck and back stiffness.

For mild pain you can use over the counter pain relief ointments and sprays like volini. Avoid driving in high speed especially when on two wheelers. As told above please avoid heavy physical activity and lifting weights which can cause more damage to your back.

Hope your query is answered.
