Question: I have recently received my MRI report showing Left foraminal disc protusion with neural foraminal narrowing and bilateral
facet arthropathy at L3-L4, left paracentral and left foraminal
disc protrusion creating mild left lateral recess and mild left neural foraminal narrowing contcting the left L5
nerve root within the left lateral recess without displacing or deforming it. bilateral facet arthropathy L4-L5. then lastly for L5-S1 we have Enlargement of stress response along the anterior-inferior endplate of L5 and mild stress response along the anterior superior endplate of S1 which shows no associated compression
fracture deformity or bone lesion. there is a moderate to severedis desiccation signal change of the disc with a broad-based posterior disc protrusion measuring 3mm in AP extent. Minimal central canal narrowing. right paracentral focal component of disc protrusion creating mild/moderate right lateral recess displacing it slightly posteriorly. this is new compared to prior study. mild bilateral facet arthropathy. With all of this said, I might add that I have been experiencing right side
radiculopathy. I have felt like I have stepped on nails, sat on pins and needles with the occasional shooing pains that come as a XXXXXXX depending on the direction of my movement. My doctor has referred me to a surgeon, yet, I have not received much direction as to what I should be doing or not doing in the meantime. I'm a little concerned about the
sclerosis of the
endplates and possible risk factors, if any, and any possible further damage I may cause between now and the time I'm able to see my surgeon. I had a ACDF done on C3-C7 exactly one year ago and have been experiencing some nerve issues there however very happy with the success from that surgery. Another concern of mine is the extreme cramping and twitching I have been experiencing mainly on my right side but bilateral in both feet. my body feels as if it's in a constant state of contraction with the occasional contortion and twitiching. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
