Question: Can you please explain these MRI results to me, in detail:

The ventricles are normal in size and position. Scattered white matter signal alterations are present which are abnormal for the patient's age, but very nonspecific. These signal abnormalities predominantly involve the bifrontal deep white matter, greater than 10 in number, each measuring less than 3 mm in diameter and with a generally rounded morphology. There is a tiny zone of cavitation within the deep right frontal white matter, likely a tiny remote insult.

There is minimal mucosal thickening in the paranasal sinuses.

The susceptibility weighted imaging demonstrates no evidence of intracranial hemorrhage.

An increased number of normal to borderline size lymph nodes is present in the neck incompletely included.

There is normal AP alignment of the cervical spine with mildly decreased disc hydration. There is subtle osteophyte formation at C6-7.

Cervical cord signal is essentially normal. The central spinal cord canal is visible at a few levels, not significantly dilated, versus subtle prominence at the depths of the median fissure. A significant syrinx is not documented.

At C3-4, there is a minimal broad-based right central disc protrusion and subtle uncovertebral hypertrophy causing no significant foraminal or central stenosis.

At C6-7, there is a broad-based central and left central disc protrusion causing mild effacement of ventral subarachnoid space and borderline AP canal dimension measuring 10 mm. There is borderline narrowing of the left C7 foramen. There is no definite cord compression at this level. A partial annular fissure is present centrally.

The thoracic spine is aligned normally with minimal decreased hydration of the T11-12 disc. The axial images at T11-12 demonstrate a tiny noncompressive central inferiorly extending disc extrusion with a tiny subtle chronic Schmorl's node deformity in the inferior endplate.

Brief Answer:
Non specific changes, nothing serious to worry.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting Healthcaremagic.
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.

Your MRI findings are mostly non specific and are mainly due to wear and tear.

Let's explain the findings in derail.
"scattered white matter alteration"
These are non specific finding and does not indicate any active disease. These are generally seen in elderly so little bit abnormal for your age. Commonly seen in hypertensive patients. Some neurologist claims that people with these findings are at increased risk of stroke, but proper evidences are lacking.
There is no evidence of any internal bleeding and ventricles in your brain is perfectly normal.
Your cervical(neck) lymph nodes are almost normal and no features suggestive of sinusitis is present in this film.

There are some disc related changes are detected in this MRI that might be the reason for pain and stiffness over your neck.
There is mild narrowing and compression detected over your cervical(neck) spine, disc bulge is also there in the neck.
You don't need to worry much regarding this.
I suggest you to consult an orthopedic and he will direct you accordingly.

Wishing you good health.
