What Does This X-ray Report Indicate?

Question: My 78 year old wife is having constant bloating, and evening discomfort of a chronic nature. She has had numerous tests and no one seems to be able to diagnose her problem and give her any relief. A recent x-ray shows "mild dilation off small bowel loops" with no further explanation. She had explorative surgery two years ago with no diagnoses of any disorder. Needless to say, her quality of life is seriously impaired. What can we do to help her?

Brief Answer:
Possible SAIO

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir.

I can certainly understand your concern.

Her current symptoms can be directly attributed to her past surgical procedures two years ago.

As per the x ray findings, the possibility of Subacute Intestinal Obstruction/SAIO can be suspected.

I advise your wife to take up CT scan if the abdomen to detect the extent of adhesions that might be responsible for SAIO.

Based on the test results, further management can be effectively planned.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.
