What Does This Abdominal CT Scan Report Indicate?
please upload the full report
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
ground glass infiltrates involve the lungs and may appear in various conditions. Chronic interstitial diseases like in various autoimmune disorders or infectious diseases like pneumocystis pneumonia may cause such a pattern. The patient's history has to be considered before reaching any diagnosis.
A cyst can be an important finding or insignificant finding depending on the patient's history, the location and characteristics of the cyst. For example if could be an abscess or a simple cyst without any clinical significance.
Uploading the full report might make it easier for me to understand the cause of these findings. Your husband's medical history (including his symptoms, the reason this test was ordered, etc) would be very helpful!
Kind Regards!
nothing important
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the additional info!
After reading the report, I can say that the cysts are insignificant. They are simple cysts in the renal pelvis without any clinical significance.
Regarding the lung opacities, the lower quadrant pain cannot be related to them in any way. A high resolution chest CT will reveal (or exclude) interstitial lung disease.
The CT scan was not helpful in determining the source of abdominal pain. The liver findings are also insignificant.
