What Does This Amniotic Fluid Index Level Indicate?
Question: Hi... I'm 25 weeks pregnant and my fluid level is -3SLP. Three weeks ago it was -2.1SLP and I'm told that it's just the lower end of normal range. So I had taken 5 bottles of amino acid drip. My doc had said, the fluid level is adequate now... Still I'm worried about my baby's health... Does the condition had any effect on my baby...? Please help

Liqour is normal levels and since your 4d scan and colour Doppler are normal , there is no harm to baby and hence no need to worry. all you need is regular follow up and healthy diet. wishing you very best for future . One more question.... What's the normal range of SLP? In the net I have seen lots of issues related to low amniotic fluid... So the results from 4D and colour Doppler tests assures everything is normal? Or is there any chance of risk in future months were the internal organs are still undergoing growth?

Regular growth monitoring of the baby needed
Detailed Answer:
No dear iny opinion there is nothing to worry as normal levels of SLP are more than 2 but at least 3-3.5 cm should be present for good movement of the baby so all is under control now.
Since 4D scan is normal along with normal Doppler there is nothing serious.
But still you will need regular antenatal visit and Ultrasound to see for proper growth of the baby as there are chances that baby can get growth retarded after a few weeks.
So keep taking protein rich diet and the amino acid supplements which must have been given by your gynecologist.
