What Does This Beta HCG Result Post IVF Indicate?

Question: Hello Doctor,
My Wife went through IVF last Month(Aug 17th) 3 Embryo was transferred, We have HCG Test on 28th August, HCG level was (37.6), Doctor asked to repeat the test again after 2 days, we had the test again on 1st Sep, Now the HCG level was (27), we are in very much confused state. How can we treat this result.. Please let us know you thought on this..

Beta hCG levels should double every 48 hours.

Unfortunately your beta hCG levels have reduced.

This means your IVF has been failure.

Please stop all medicines you are taking and wait for periods.

Thank you very much Doctor for your Reply, Could you please tell us what could be the reasons for this result, Please suggest us your suggestion to be taken care in further IVF. When could be the best time to go for next IVF.

1.As per my understanding the embryo was successfully implanted, correct me if I am wrong..

Hi

The reasons for failure in your case is difficult to predict.

It mainly depends on embryo quality. If embryos had some chromosomal problem or uterus didn't allow implantation this is likely to happen.

It is right that there was biochemical pregnancy and this didn't sustain.

Let me know which city you live in. I can suggest a good IVF centre.

Therefore I suggest you wait for 3 months and undergo ivf again.

Thank you very much doctor... I live in XXXXXXX ..But the IVF treatment we have taken in XXXXXXX . We used to take treatment in XXXXXXX with DR XXXXXXX Deendayal...We had undergone two times of Laparoscope with her, For endometriosis. And 3 times of IUI with her...All this happen over 2.5 years...still Dr is dragging further for doing IVF... As per the Relatives suggestion we have taken IVF in XXXXXXX I sincerely urge you to suggest the best solution for our problem. We are struggling this from past 8 years...

It is better to go ahead with another cycle of IVF after gap of three months.

I suggest you go ahead with IVF in same centres as they know your case better and might give discounts for second cycle of IVF
