Report shows low Hb, high WBC & neutrophils, expected after blood loss
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.
A normal vaginal delivery is accompanied by blood loss to variable extent.
The blood report shows that your hemoglobin (Hb) level is slightly below normal biological interval.
The lower limit for hemoglobin in adult female is 12 gm%.
However, the hemoglobin can be explained because of blood loss during delivery.
The white blood cell (WBC) count is also raised with increased number of neutrophils.
An increase in WBC along with neutrophilic predominance can be seen after blood loss, however, the values come to normal within few hours or days.
Rest all the parameters are within range and there is nothing to worry.
You can get the hemogram repeated after a week and the parameters should come to normal.
If still the hemoglobin is low and WBC high then you need to consult your primary healthcare provider for investigation of low Hb and high WBC.
Low Hb is due to anemia and high WBC with neutrophilic predominance is usually due to infection.
Your blood values does not indicate cancer.
Detailed Answer:
hello and welcome again,
The white blood cell count and the differential count does not indicate cancer.
Elevated WBC count is commonly associated with acute blood loss and infections.
