What Does This Blood Report Indicate?
Monocytes and lymphocytes are mildly increased, could be viral infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.
The differential count for a 7 year old shows a normal neutrophils, slightly elevated monocytes, slightly elevated lymphocytes and presence of @% immature myeloid cells.
This picture is not suggestive of anything serious.
This could be due to viral infection.
Is there any recent history of fever? Since viral infection is commonly associated with fever.
Low red blood cell count can be due to decreased production or increased loss of blood.
It would be more informative if you could post the hemoglobin level and hematocrit also.
However, the differential count is slightly disturbed but does not indicate anything serious or abnormal.
Thanks and take care
