Brief Answer:
Hi I would recommend the following.
Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,
Thank you for your query. I have reviewed your blood report. It seems that you have moderate to severe anemia of microcytic type.
This type of anemia is seen in iron deficiency or chronic diseases. In adults it is very commonly seen due to chronic bleeding especially from bowel. I would recommend you please go ahead with iron studies to see the iron levels and ferritin levels as well as stool for occult blood. Also please let me know when was your last screening colonscopy done and what was the result.
I hope this helps.
Let me know if you have any more questions or concerns sir.
Wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dr Parth Desai

hello?
is there going to be a follow up answer
Brief Answer:
Hi I would recommend the following.
Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir,
I am sorry for a delayed response.
Yes Hemorrhoids that bleed frequently can be a cause of this blood findings. Since the hemoglobin is low. I would advice you to take Iron tablets (ferrous sulphate)300mg three times a day for atleast 2-3 months so that the hemoglobin rises.
Meanwhile it is also essential that you consult a surgeon with regard to treatment for hemorrhoid. Sometimes a hemorrhoid may mask a bleeding from a deeper bowel source hence if not done, a screening colonoscopy may be advised as per a consultation with a gastroenterologist later on.
All in all I would recommend the above treatment with surgical consultation for hemorrhoids and a colonscopy(no hurry for that) to help rise the hemoglobin and prevent further chronic blood loss.
I hope this helps sir.
Again sorry for delayed response.
Wish you all the very best.
Let me know if you have any more questions or concerns sir.
