ANA SCREEN, IFA positive
ANA TITER 1:160
What do you think these mean?
Brief Answer:
Please provide detailed history.
Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam,
Thank you for posting your query on HCM.
Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that ANA is a test which is suggestive of antinuclear antibodies signifying presence of autoimmune disease specially Lupus . Please provide the detailed medical history for which this testing was done so that we can correlate and tell you . Also with increasing age this test can be false positive .
Take care.

But what about the titers number? Can that be wrong?
I'm trying desperately to see a rheumatologist to get a definitive diagnosis, but the waiting list is very long. I live in XXXXXXX FL. So far, you, my pulmonologist and my neurologist are all saying most likely lupus. At this point, my kidneys (borderline), lungs (nodules that weren't there 2 months ago), legs (terrible muscular pain) and weight loss (30 pounds) are effected. Can't start treatment without an official diagnosis (if there is one).

Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam,
Thank you for reverting back .
Well your titre is moderately high and the pattern is homogenous that is mostly suggestive of lupus . Further ENA profile , CPK , anti dsDNA titres have to be done to determine the diagnosis . Whatever symptoms you are telling are suggestive of this disease and thus you should get yourself further investigated as I have suggested you . Rest any query please ask .

Do these urologic tests have anything to do with with Lupus? I was lucky and someone canceled in the rheumatologist's office, so I'll see her early tomorrow morning (May 4).
Brief Answer:
No.
Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam,
These urologic tests are not related to lupus , these are done for ruling out phaeochromocytoma .
