What Does This Blood Report Indicate?
Question: from last 2 months i have fiver and loose motions after taking anti biotic medicins its cured but again chest conjestion is there .my blood report dt 11.06.17 is as under heamoglobin 12.8 , WBC ( DLC) polymorphs 75 % Lymphocytes 20% , monocytes 0% , eosnophils 5% Erythocyte Sedimentation rate Observed 18 mm in Ist hr , P.C.V 37 CC% corrected 04 mm in Ist hr Platelet count 2.53 Lac RBC SHOWS MILD ANISOCYTOSIS AND POIKILOCYTOSIS .PL guide whether further investgation is required . Presence of anisocytosis and poikilocytosis on peripheral blood smear indicates variation in size and shape of red blood cells.
Variation in red blood cells is commonly seen in microcytic anemia and microcytic anemia is most commonly seen in iron deficiency states.
I suggest you to get iron studies, serum ferritin level and stool for occult blood for further work up.
