What Does This Blood Test Report For Dengue Indicate?
Question: Son is 15yrs old. Is a minor thallasemic. Detected with dengue through ns1 test. Platelet count 1,11,000 with wbc 2800. Second report post saline IV, platelet count 2,58,000 wbc 2100. Third report platelet count 2,38,000 wbc 1300. SGOT 84.
Pls advice further course of treatment. Temperatures are under control since last 3 days

Fortunately his platelets have become normal
Hopefully wbc should also normalise in few days it just needs monitoring
Watch for recurrence of fever

I am only worrying on high SGOT. Do we need to continue IV or oral liquid intaje will do.? Can take discharge from hospital?

Not to worry about it
Can repeat cbc and sgot after 3 days
Need of hospitalisation depends now on his feeling of well being and if oral intake is adequate then can stop Iv fluids
