What Does This Chest X-ray Indicate?
Question: Hello. My 12 years old girl got TB positive and we had a chest Xray done today. Every line says it is "clear" except that Mildly prominent pulmonary vascular markings". Should I be worried about this sentence?

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through your query. However, I would need to know why specifically you needed to take her to a doctor and how was the TB diagnosed. The chest X Ray does not indicate pulmonary TB (lung TB) and rather shows changes that would otherwise be there in case of common cold. So, you need not get bothered by that statement.
I would await your response.

Thank you so much for your quick reply. We are diplomats newly assigned to Kuwait. It is routine procedure before going to a new post that you take tests. In my child's case, TB test had to be done which turned out to be positive. Embassy doctor recommended to have Xray taken where everything is clearly fine. Please don't get me wrong, I am a little freak mother and could not wait until tomorrow morning when we see out doctor again and submitted this online. Sentence I sent you trigged me.
Brief Answer:
Needs to be investigated further
Detailed Answer:
I do not get you wrong. I understand your apprehension. The diagnosis was probably based on Mantoux test and the positivity does not necessarily confirm TB but rather calls for further evaluation and work up.
