Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir
Diastolic dysfunction of LV means that the relaxability of Left ventricle which is main pumping chamber of heart is reduced. When this chamber receives blood, it expands, somewhat similar to filling of a balloon with water. If it fills normally, that means, the chamber which is pumping blood into LV is exerting normal pressure to fill it to the desired extent. However, when diastolic dysfunction is there, the proximal chamber has to exert more than normal to fill LV to its full extent. because the relaxability of LV has reduced or its stiffness has increased.
There are many stages of Diastolic dysfunction from Mild to severe and it can be quantified by various methods. However, your cardiologist has not qualified it further. May be, he deemed it unnecessary, depending upon the case.
There are many causes of diastolic dysfunction which may include old age, coronary artery disease (which you have), high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity etc. We tend to treat underlying condition and not the entity (diastolic dysfunction) itself.
It is not serious in all the conditions. The best person to decide it is your cardiologist who understands its severity and over all clinical condition.
I hope this clarifies the condition. Please feel free to discuss further.
Sincerely
Sukhvinder

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir
1. As I told you multiple things can cause diastolic dysfunction (DD) including a heightened sympathetic drive at times may contribute to it. We do not treat it directly rather we tend to treat the underlying condition.

2. The effect of diastolic dysfunction is that it may cause breathlessness on exertion. This is the first symptom of DD theoretically. Further on , it may cause swelling of feet and other features of fluid retention in body. However, all this depends upon the severity of DD which is not mentioned in your report. It may be trivial to severe. If your cardiologist says there is nothing to worry, it might not have been severe in intensity during echo evaluation. Your asymptomatic status during 1 hour walk and yoga reassures that it should not be severe. The future change in this entity depends upon the underlying causes rather than the entity itself.

3 I hope this clarifies the doubt. If there is anything else please let me know your exact cause of worry or apprehension.

Sincerely
Sukhvinder
