Brief Answer:
Sonogram suggests a possible dermoid cyst.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

I presume that your friend has been induced to ovulate as the sonogram findings indicate. The two ovaries contain one dominant follicle each and the thickness of the endometrium is corresponding to the day of a 28-day cycle.

Apart from these findings, the right ovary shows a cyst suspected to be a dermoid. A dermoid cyst is a non-functional cyst considered to be a tumor of the ovary and it is not usually cancerous. It originates from the retained cells at birth and grows hair, bone, sebaceous tissue, neural tissue or teeth.

Complications may arise as the size increases and the treatment is complete removal.

In the current scenario, your friend would need the opinion of her consultant as to the need for a surgery to remove the cyst.

Hope your query has been clarified. Please feel free to contact for further information. I will be happy to help.

Thanks Doctor...

what is the time frame we have for the Surgery (as I understand it mandatory), if we do not want to go in for surgery (as she does not want to do it) what are the complication that we might face, and how long will be surgery take, and how much will it cost us, and for how long will she have to be in hospital (can this be cured by homeopathy) as she is under medication using homeopathy, will there be issue for her married life as such

Brief Answer:
Answered below.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing back.

Here are your answers-

-There is no strict time frame for surgery; the need depends on the progress of the tumor.
-As the tumor progresses, it may lead to pain and torsion if left unattended.
-Surgery can be through laparotomy or laparoscopy; duration may vary from an hour or two.
-The cost of the surgery may vary from 2000-3000 pounds for a laparoscopic procedure.
-The duration of the hospital stay can vary from a few hours to a couple of days based on the mode of procedure.
-I do not have any idea about the effectiveness of homeopathy in its cure; you should consult a homeopathic doctor to know.
-A properly performed surgery does not cause any issues in the future as regards fertility and marital life.

Hope your doubts have been clarified. Please contact if you need any other information. I will be ready to help.

Brief Answer:
It is British pounds.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for your feedback.

I meant British pounds. In XXXXXXX the cost of the surgery varies depending on the center and the mode of surgery. Laparoscopic surgery in a well equipped private hospital may cost around 1-1.5 lakh rupees. It would cost comparatively lesser in a charitable institute or in a government set up.

Hope all your queries have been answered. Please contact if you need additional information. I will be available to help.

Wish you good health.

Shanti.V.
