What Does This Hemoglobin Level Indicate?

Question: my hemoglobin is 10.7 is this a safe number, I had transfusions in Feb.it was only at 7.3, what could be causing this low hemoglobin
Brief Answer:
hi and welcome
Detailed Answer:
This is good level and no transfusions are required as long as its above 80. There are various possible causes of anemia and most common this is iron defficiency so check your iron first and take iron rich food. also,it can be sign of chronic bleeding in gastrointestinal system or due to vaginal bleeding. Hematologic disorders, liver and spleen diseases and kidney diseases are possible causes as well. But first check your iron,do hemocult test and abdominal ultrasound. If nothing is found then you need more detailed tests
