What Does This Herpes Test Result After Unprotected Sex Indicate?
Question: sir,
sir i am have done unprotected sex without condom with one women on 15/6/2013 and i don't know her hiv status and than i have done sex with my girlfriend without condom on 30/12/2013 but she is hiv negative and than i get dout about hiv and i thought to get tested for hiv and than i get tested for hiv rapid screening blood test on 30/5/2014 but the test results non-reactive and than i have get tested on 28/6/2014 for hiv 1&2 antibodies screening test,serum (ict) hiv 1/2 by flow through immunofiltration and both hiv 1/2 results non-reactive and i also get tested for vdrl(rpr),serum (slide flocculation) and the result was non-reactive and than on 29/6/2014 i get tested for std panel which include undergiven tests....

sir upgiven all test results non reactive but i am not able to understand about HERPES SIMPLEX VIRUS (HSV) 1+2, IGM, SERUM in test report there value range is given and value range for hsv 1+2 IGM is given 0.50 and HERPES SIMPLEX VIRUS (HSV) 1+2, IGG, SERUM value =27.80 what does it mean and sir i want to know that am i safe or not sir and is there any need to get tested for any more test if yes plz tell me the name of test sir and plz explain about the my test results of herpes what these indicates and it is safe to me to get married or not sir.please tell me i will be very thankful to you for this sir.plz reply as soon as possible on my email id YYYY@YYYY and i am uploding my test reports sir see and tell me about them and tell me am i safe or not and i am thinking about to get married should i get married or not and for herpes which specilist doctor should i meet sir.

Fortunately you are HIV free, Syphilis, hepatitis B&C free, and There is no chlamydial infection. Your HSV Ig G antibody test against HSV 1&2 is positive.
Regarding HSV test Ig M indicates a recent infection and Ig G indicates an old infection. That still may be active or not. Moreover this test had been done for both HSV 1&2. HSV 1 is not a STD and it can occur or present as an old infection for many of us and called as 'Cold Sore'. HSV 2 is a STD.
Your test had not differentiated whether it is HSV 1 or HSV 2. You can ask for a test to differentiate the two. It is available.
Even the presence of HSV 2 is not a contraindication for Marriage. There are thousands of people got married and live with HSV 2 or HSVI. They are life threatening disease. Only recurrence is common. Otherwise it can be ignored.
