Brief Answer:
You need regular thyroxine supplementation

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. My concerns are regarding:
* The triglyceride level is raised. The cholesterol level is marginally raised as well. I would insist you to take a rosuvastatin + fenofibrate combination on regular basis. Discuss with your doctor first.
* I need to ask if you take alcohol. If so, you need to cut down on it. If not, the liver enzymes (SGOT, SGPT) are not a cause for concern.
* The TSH level can only be kept in control on regular medication. You cannot afford to not take it regularly. Regularise the dose and repeat the TSH level after a month. If still raised, you would need the dose of thyroxine to be increased.

Let me know if I could help further.

Hello Doctor

Thanks for replying.

I don't take oily/fatty food , I have good fitness levels and I am working out in the gym very frequently(5 Days in a week ) . Weight is on the higher side approx 96 Kgs but mostly it's muscle mass not fat , gained out of weightlifting.

I am Eggetarian and I don't take any bodybuilding supplements , my diet consists of 8 to 12 Egg Whites per day ,2 Serving of plain Oats , 1 serving of Brown Rice , 2 serving of Salads + Veggies + Pulses , 1-2 serving of fruits throughout the day . All food is cooked in very less Olive oil.

I am not taking any milk product as I feel it causes acne , I avoid Gluten based food items and also goitrogenic vegetables are cooked thoroughly before eating.

Regarding Cholesterol/Triglyceride : Matter of concern as I am not sure what is there in my diet or lifestyle that's causing such high values . Please advise.

Regarding Liver SGPT/SGOT : I don't take Alcohol at all , even if I take it it's even less than once in an year limited to just 1 beer. I am not sure what is causing increase in SGPT/SGOT.

Regarding HYPOTHYROID : I feel the increase is truly reflected as I am suffering from Hashimoto Thyroiditis Post Hypothyroid and I should be taking Thyroxin regularly please advise is my above diet suitable for Hypothyroid and is cutting down on gluten good.

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Dietary modifications suggested

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back.
The cholesterol and triglyceride levels are unlikely to be raised due to dietary habits. Rather, genetic factors are more likely to have a role to play. That is the reason that statins with fenofibrate combination are important to be taken daily.
In case of the liver enzymes, you simply need not bother.
Yes, Hashimoto's thyroiditis is possibly the underlying cause. But religious intake of medicines (thyroxine) is essential in order to keep it in control. If you are on regular medication further dietary modifications would not be essential. However, it would be advisable to:
* Drink plenty of water.
* Increase your intake of dietary fibers
* Take Iodine rich foods like iodized salt, seafood
* Take foods rich in antioxidants and vitamin C such as tomatoes, cherries, squash, bell peppers etc
* Take foods rich in vitamin B and iron like whole grains, fresh and sea vegetables
* Avoid Soy products, soy milk and soybeans
* Avoid Whole milk or heavy cream but take Skimmed dairy products
* Avoid raw foods like cabbage, broccoli, mustard reens, XXXXXXX Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, pears, peaches, strawberries, radishes, spinach, turnip, peanuts, millets etc (should be eaten cooked in small quantities)
