Question: My wife had a C-Section on 12Aug and delivered a baby boy. Both mother and baby are doing well. We had preserved the cord blood and tissue with Cordlife. Recently they send me the report. All the other parameter are normal apart from below parameter for Maternal Blood Test Report:
Cytomegalovirus
- CMV IgG
CMIA

This test result came Reactive but expected result is Non-Reactive.
Other all result are as Expected Result.

I have attached the sample report for your reference.

Could please let me know the what this is about and whether it will affect mother and baby life?

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.
CMV IgG positive levels mean that your wife is already immune to cytomegalovirus infection and that is a good sign.
It means that there is no active infection if the IgM is non reactive.
There is no infection and hence there will be no effect on the mother or the fetus.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
