Question: Occasional; drinker (once in 2 months), controlled diabetis, healthy male. two weeks back Gall bladder removed. Now the blood test is :
Alkaline Phosphatase (SAP)(Serum/Modified IFCC) 301.4(Rechecked) (Range U/L 56 - 119) AND

GGT(Gamma Glutamyl Transpeptidase) (Serum/IFCC / Kinetic) 728.8(Rechecked) (Range U/L < 55)

The above two abnormal readings are for my father 84 years, controlled Diabetes (occasional social drinker). HIs US abdomen is fine.
IS there a medicine to cure his liver problem or only ECRP to clean bail duct ? Thanks Doc. After surgery he still has mild pain which doc all some passing sludge in bile duct.
Is his GGT and Alk Phos in dangerous level (it had been this range 550, 670 and now 728 during 3 test in this month alone) ??

Brief Answer:
ERCP ans Stenting ASAP

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history and provision of the proper Lab report.
All the values are elevated.
The far elevated values of GGT and Alkaline Phosphatase indicate an active obstruction to the bile flow and the only way to get a possible cure is ERCP- sphinceterotomy and putting in the stent.

This should have been done at the earliest.

I hope this answer helps your Father to recover very fast and I hope other investigations like CT scan and MRCP are already done to rule out other causes of obstruction.
